Even before I got on the trail, as I was driving up Skyline Drive at sunrise, there was a show that I just had to stop and see - fog spilling over the gap, great fall color painted by a narrow slit of sunlight in otherwise overcast skies:
I hiked from Big Meadows Lodge to Little Stonyman, and there were sights of all kinds along the way. The fog was playing with the sun. The concert was a re-enactment of the moment of creation. And I got to be a witness!
The fog gave fall color its own unique signature.
And the moisture brought the natural rock gardens to life:
And there were views - views galore! How can one person be so blessed in one single day, to have experienced such glory!?!
